The Dirty Picture Hindi is a 2011 Indian biographical film based on the life of Silk Smitha. The film was directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, together after their last hit Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai (2010).[4] The film stars Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles. Usually male actors are seen in the commanding position in Bollywood films, but here Vidya singlehandedly marketed the film, played woman dominance in film and proved the woman ‘hero’[5].Earlier Vidya bounced with as a single mother in Paa and took her boldness a step further with her sensuous avatar in Ishqiya.
